How to Generate App Icons and Google Play Store Graphics
App Design Studio turns your website into an app icon, Google Play graphics, phone screenshots and promotional images — made once per app and kept for every rebuild.
On this page
After your app's first successful build, App Design Studio opens your website in a phone-sized browser, captures a few of its pages and turns them into ready-made graphics using your app's name, icon and brand color. No designer or AI subscription is needed. It's included in the Starter, Pro and Business plans at no extra cost.
- App icon — 512 × 512 PNG, from the icon you uploaded (or your website's own icon, or your initials on your brand color).
- Feature graphic — 1024 × 500 PNG with your icon, app name and description.
- Framed phone screenshots — 1080 × 1920 (9:16): a page of your website inside a phone, with a short caption.
- Plain phone screenshots — 1080 × 1920: the app screen itself, edge to edge, with a clean status bar.
- Promotional graphics — a square social post (1080 × 1080) and a link banner (1200 × 630) for your website and social media. These are not Google Play listing assets.
Captions only mention features that are really in your app's build (for example pull to refresh or the offline screen), so the images never promise something the app doesn't do.
- Build your app. When the build finishes, Your App Designs appears at the bottom of the build page and starts by itself.
- Wait a few minutes — the progress shows real steps: getting ready, capturing your website, composing your graphics and saving them. You can download your APK and leave meanwhile; nothing is lost.
- Come back any time from your app's Designs tab.
Our design server opens your website as a phone would (1080 × 1920), captures your home page and up to three pages from your site's menu, and hides cookie banners and chat bubbles that would cover the picture. It never clicks, signs in or fills in anything. Every layout is made from these same captures, so your website is visited only once.
Pages that need you to sign in, or that block automated visitors, can't be captured — your public pages are used instead.
- Tap an image or Preview to see it full size.
- Download saves that one image, at its full size and original format.
- Download all (ZIP) saves everything at once: Google Play images in a
google-playfolder and the rest inpromotional.
Images come from packagemobile.com's own download page after checking your account — only you and the teammates you've given this app can open them.
Each app gets one design set. It's saved with the app, so it's still there after you sign out, on another device, or months later.
Building a new version of the same app doesn't make the designs again: your store listing stays consistent, and your plan isn't used up on repeat work. Opening the page, refreshing it or downloading images never starts a new set either. Another app — even of the same website — gets its own set.
If your designs can't be made, you'll see why — most often your website couldn't be opened from our design server. Your app is not affected: the build and its download stay exactly as they are.
- Check that your website is online and its pages open without signing in.
- Tap Try again in Your App Designs.
- Still stuck after a few tries? Contact support and we'll take a look.
- App icon: 512 × 512, 32-bit PNG (with transparency), up to 1 MB.
- Feature graphic: 1024 × 500, JPEG or 24-bit PNG (no transparency).
- Phone screenshots: JPEG or 24-bit PNG, at least 320 px, sides no more than twice as long as each other; 2–8 per device type. For apps to be eligible for promotion, Google asks for at least four at a minimum of 1080 px — 9:16 portrait (1080 × 1920) is what we make.
Upload them in the Play Console on your app's main store listing page. Google also recommends no rankings or prices in images (“Best”, “#1”, “Free”…), no calls to action like “Download now”, and captions that cover less than a fifth of a screenshot — our layouts follow these.
Fewer than four screenshots? Your site may have few menu pages — add more of your own screenshots in the Play Console.
Designs aren't remade from the dashboard. If your logo or colors change, you can edit the downloaded images in any image editor, or take new screenshots of the app on your phone and upload those to the Play Console.
